Martin David Edwards is an award-winning content creator across film and video, writing and photography based in London. Martin works under the name storiesbymartin.
Film and Video
Martin works as a camera operator and single shooter operator (managing camera, lighting and sound) for corporate clients and narrative film projects. He was awarded Best Cinematography for Comedy by the Folkestone Film Festival in March 2024 for his comedy film "The Throuple."
Martin also acts as a production sound mixer and combined sound recordist/boom operator for short and long-form film productions. Over 2022 and 2023, Martin recorded sound for over 12 short narrative films. In 2024, Martin has most recently worked as the production sound recordist for an independent feature film, "The Last Screenwriter", filmed on location in Zurich, Switzerland.
Writing
Martin has published short stories in Bento Box, The Literary Yard, The Metric, Psychopomp, Sein und Werden, Storyboard, Street Cake and Winamop magazines, and in the collection "Allusions of Innocence" by Solarwyrm Press. Martin has exhibited in three solo shows at the Red Gate Gallery in London and in group shows at AE Studios in New York and at the Liquid Arts Fair. He has published fashion editorials and runway photography in BeyondALL Magazine, Crookes Magazine, Feroce Magazine, London Runway Magazine, MakeSense Magazine, Marika Magazine, Ondine Magazine, Picton Magazine and Winamop Magazine.
Martin dedicates all his work to the memory of his late beloved sister, Clare Lucy Sankey (1964-2007).
